I'm jealous too! My school gets out at around 2:30p.m.ish. I do not support the shipping of animals. However, animalluvr really would provide them with a great home so I did decide to make an exception. They will NOT be flown, but delivered. =) I answered the cage cleaning question on another post. I play with mine as soon as I get home from school and sometimes even in the mornings if I have extra time.
I got my sugar gliders at the age of 13. If you do get one, you have to do your research. I did bout a month of research so i knew wat i to feed them. im 14 now goin on 15, and i have had my sugar glider for a year. my sister got one too, and she was 10. she got a girl and i had a boy. so now my sisters sugar glider is PREGNANT!!! im so excited!!sugarglides2009-08-30 17:11:44
SugarGlides? You did a month of research? I'm 14, currently, and I got my Gliders in May of 2007, I did INTENSE, EXTENSIVE research for nearly two years and I continue to do research before I purchased my first Gliders. Hopefully you did your research on Sugar Glider JOEYS as well. Like how long the female gestation period is? How long do they joeys remain in pouch? At what age can the joeys be weaned? sold? What would you do in the case of a rejected joey? What is the proper diet to feed a female Glider who is pregnant?
so did i, but when i found a good sugar glider for sale on ksl, i had to call and tell them that i wanted him. i still did research after that with my sister so she would be ready when she got heres. and them i found this cool web-site, i just started asking questions and they were just being answered left and right. now i know a ton about sugar gliders. my sister found a test on sugar gliders, and i aced it. and my sugies are healthy and about to be parents. when my sister got her girl sugar glider, me and her started to do research bout the mating, and the time periods, like when they go to the pouch, when they come out, how to handle them when they are pregnant, the type of diets that are good for them. my sisters friend had sugar gliders too, and she also helped us with our sugar gliders too. we trained them the way the owner who gave me my baby sugar glider, she helped me too. so i had alot of help from tons of people. sugarglides2009-08-30 17:20:48
Hey im his sister and i am now 11. We got a ton of help and we did and are doing such a great job mine is pregnent!I had my sugar glider and my friends cuz did all the research for about the same time you did and then she told my friend and then she got hers. after that she told me and then i told my brother. so he found his sugar glider and then i got mine. after i got my girls. we spent thousands of hours researching about the joeys and if the mother rejected them we'd know what to do.
Where are you all located? Also, what breeder did you purchase your Gliders from? And did you know, that based on your location, you actually need special certification and licenses to LEGALLY breed Sugar Gliders as they are exotic animals. In my personal opinion, you two have not completed a significant amount of research where you should be allowed to breed. I think that you should continue to study Sugar Gliders for a more intense period and attempt it again later on. How long have you two actually owned Sugar Gliders? Also, do you plan on selling the Sugar Gliders? That DEFINITELY requires licenses? And if you have a license, what is the verification or, I.D. number located on it? Thank You. Lauren
