I am getting myself a little boy sugar glider this weekend and tomorrow we are going out for the supplies so i was just wondering if anyone had any good suggestions for a cheap cage or one that i can build. I would like one with decent height for the little guy to play in. Thanks. Royboy922009-04-12 20:02:04
Check out www.birdandcage.com (Bird and Cage Company) and www.sugar-gliders.com (Suncoast Sugar Gliders). They make an amazing hexagon cage, although it's a little pricey. It lasts a long time, plenty of room and I love it. Your glider will also need a friend, they don't tend to do well alone. They do much better when kept in pairs or small groups.
I know that they tend to get lonely but i have lots of free time and my dad's friend brings hers to work everyday so i am having him bring ours so that they can play together in a little tent i have. Is that a decent idea? atleast until i get my mom to let us get another one?
I wouldn't do that. They could bond, causing separation anxiety when they have to go back to different homes. If you are near Florida, I have a very sweet girl I could sell you. With enough attention, he'll be fine for now but he really needs a friend. When you are asleep, he'll be all alone and that's not good.
i have only one at the time but im planning on getting another, but till then ,i wont let her even near my little girls,i dont want there to be any problems.i would suggest a mate of his own. good luck
