I have a year old male and i just got a 5 month old little girl. I have had her for a week now, but every time i stick my hand into her cage she crabs at me. And when i take her out of her bag she will run off of me and hide or go right back into her pouch. Any advice would be awesome.
You need to start bonding with her. Try putting some apple sauce on your finger and let her lick it off. Take a t-shirt that you've worn and put it in her cage or over it so she gets used to your scent. Take it slow, make sure she is comfortable, if she crabs and nips don't pull back or she will learn that it helps her situation and does it more. There are tons of topics on bonding in this forum I suggest you search for some.

There are so many things a glider can get into......................also keep in mind the can get into the smallest places and while he is out he is pooing and peeing whenever and where ever..........LOL But if your house is gliderproofed then that is good ...........same as child proofing cept worse!!!! Have you been to glider central dot net???? Lots of good info there!! and lots of people to answer your questions!!
your welcome. i do my bonding/playtime in a genji tent...........you can google it cause i cant remember the site ............best tent.................roomy and ventilated.
imonlyjustagirl, You should never let your gliders run around the house, that is very bad. There are so many safety hazards and things they can/will get into!!! You should let the girl settle in for two days or so and then immediately start bonding with her. The longer you wait the weaker your bond will be, in my opinion. Start by carrying her around in a bonding pouch and feeding her 'licky-treats' or mushy foods that she can lick off your finger. It teaches gliders that fingers are friends not food. You can also try petting her and letting her run around and play in a SUPERVISED, GLIDER-PROOF room. Make sure there is nothing that could even potentially hurt her.
