I am wondering if the BML diet is the best one to give my suggies - ive heard something about they get too much calcium in that diet?? also are there any restrictions on what fruits and veggies you can give them with that diet?
I use BML and it is a wonderful diet. But the restrictions are that you have to only use the fruits and veggies that are listed or you will be throwing off the ratios of the diet, rendering it useless as an approved diet.

But my passion is for my suggie sweethearts!
I started out on BML for the first 2 years just recently (a lil less than 2 months ago) switched to HPW. I loved feeding BML and never had any of the problems with the gliders eating like some claim. I never used the reptile vitamins in my BML mix though because reptiles are "skinload" on their vitamins (esp vit D) and gliders are "gutload". I just left out the vitamins in the BML mix when making it and switched to Pricillas (The Pet Glider) sugar glider vitamin sprinkled over the entire plate nightly. I dont do this nightly anymore as HPW has the vitamins in it already, though I am still throwing a little of pricillas vitamins over the plate 1 or 2 times a week. I chose to change due to the fact that I was constantly having to stock up on the chicken baby food and the yogurt juice as my area stores were commonly out of 1 or both of them. I live in an old 1880's 5 bedroom victotrian that doesnt have ANY storage room at all (1 closet that was added in the last 10 years) and my TINY kitchen only has a limited amount of cabinets which had been overrun with fixins for bml. My gliders made the switch NO PROBLEM at all and I have noticed a decrease in their smell also. Not to mention HPW is easier to make and doesnt stink up the whole house when your making it either. BML is actually cheaper to make unless you are able to buy the HPW supplement powder in bulk and then the price to make it is comparable or even a little bit cheaper....IMHO
