Gliders aren't the sort of animals that like to be held, unless you have an especially tame one that is used to it from day one. Alot of people can scoop them out of the pouch but holding is a no no for them. Mostly they like to run around and play and pee on their human/tree.
Do you just have the one glider? If so a playmate is a priority, they are very social animals and being alone can have a massive affect on both physical and mental welfare.
