my female is pregnant for the first time(with just one) and i'd rather just keep him/her. can i do this assuming that the joey is not rejected (or can i do it if it is rejected)? also, if the joey is a female, do i have to get the male neutered? i really would rather not buy another cage + glider. basicly im asking if they can live happily together.
Yes, I have done it, I am doing it again. Joey's normally come in two. You can keep it if it's rejected, you just have to take care of it until it is old enough. In that case you'll need another cage. (It's nice to have an extra) I hope you have read up on materials about rejected joeys. No matter what you're going to have to neuter someone. If she has girls, you need to neuter the father so he won't mate with her. If you have a boy and girl you'll need to neuter both father and son. If you have both boy's you'll need to atleast neuter them both. Most neuters can cost anywhere from 50-100+. Here it costs $100. Pretty much you need to prevent inbreeding.AMoribundDream2007-09-28 21:02:51
