Hi i have a question and hope that someone can help me. Four days ago i purchased a young sugar glider from a market in dubai. I was told that it was 4months old. It has not eaten since i bought it home. I have tried several foods that i googled but so far it has eaten nothing. It will occasionally lick grapes. Does anyone have advice on what i should do? Thanks martin msaker@emaar.ae

My guess is that you were sold a baby that was NOT 4 months old. You need to mash up foods for it and also make a nectar. You might even go so far as to chew some foods for the animal until it gets older. Try some flavored yogurt, honey, anything soft or liquid. Mashed potatoes, baby foods in a jar, ... You can use a blender to make a nectar mix. There are a lot of recipes for sugar glider nectar mix. The result would be a liquid they can lick.

Just keep trying. And also ask the seller/breeder for assistance. I hate to say it, but I suspect sellers/breeders in Dubai may not be very well versed in caring for gliders. ie: no kibble, no cat food, no dog food, the diet is complicated not simple...
