Does anyone have any tips for a first timer?

Maybe about the best times of day, ages, any pouches/supplies available.. Sorry, I'm a total n00b.

First I trim nails! I use a Sportsbra that is 2 sizes too big and my glider sleeps in the middle. Any shelf bra will do! I beleive you can get a bra pouch at sugarglidersuz site. I cant feel them in a bra pouch! The first time I would put your glider in the bra would be afternoon when the glider is the sleepiest! Good luck and let us know how it goes!!!

you can gliders 8 weeks and older out all day. Just have a zipper bonding pouch handy just in case.

I suggest starting out maybe an hour a day. as they get used to it, you can start taking them out for longer periods of time, eventually building up to all day. just make sure that when you take them out all day, if you leave the house, take water, treats, and an emergency cage with you.

With new joeys, just oop, only handle them for a few minutes each day (or even a couple times a day for just a few minutes) until the parents are ok with you having them. By about 3 weeks oop, you can start to keep them away from the parents about half an hour and can start bra training them then (atleast this is what I do). By 4 weeks, about an hour or two, 5 weeks, 2-3 hours, 6 weeks, 4-6 hours, 7 weeks, 6-8 hours, 8 weeks, they should be weened by this point and you can carry them as much as you'd like.

These ages are NOT set in stone. A great deal depends on how the parents react to you having the joeys away from them. You don't want to stress the parents.

The parents are fantastic, they don't care at all, though they do take to the joey once they come back so I'm not worried about them abandoning them. Thank you though, this is a great guide line! :D I really appreciate, I can't wait to try this.. I've mainly kept them out and held them or had them in a pouch but this sounds like it might be better for bonding and more fun, too.. xD Thanks. <3
