Please help.  Its the weekend and I just discovered some blood coming out of one of the male gliders.  I seperated them since they were fighting about a month ago, then just the last couple days put them back together.  Today I saw some blood, dime size, and then seperated to see who it was.  It is the smaller of the two, has been out of its pouch during the day.

the blood is coming from the area of poop and pee, but both are not colored with blood.  Any ideas would greatly be appreciated.

It's an odd place for another glider to attack, normally it would be the tail or the head and neck if it's through breeding.  If the cloacal area is red I think you should take him to a vet, it could possibly be him overgrooming or biting the area due to  UTI.

IF it is fighting, then are you sure you have male and female?  Did you go through an introductory process or just put them together.  Do you think it might be a good idea to get the male neutered?

Hi,
Thank you for your reply.  These little guys have been together for 4 years now and started fighting about 4 months ago.
The bleeding as stopped and I do believe it was from them fighting.  I think it was not on that area but transferred from another area.
We have seperated them permenatly and so far so good.

Are they both male?  I mis read the thread title as breeding gliders!

If they are both male then maybe you should consider getting them both neutered as this tends to reduce aggression.  Get them neutered, leave them apart for a month to let their hormones settle, but you could be swapping pouches between them and after the month then start to let them play together.
