Animalluvr,
Not that it is any of my business, but I just thought I'd ask. How old are you? =)

Intact male Sugar Gliders smell much worse than females due to "marking" their territory. If you have a pair of female Gliders or neutered male and female that is usually preferred. I've found neutered males to generally be the sweetest. I'd get a neutered male / female pair. I have one for sale if you are interested.

The neutered males and females don't smell if properly cared for. They smell even less if they are on a proven diet (BML, HPW, The Priscilla Price Diet), I suggest Priscilla Price. The cage and pouches should be cleaned and washed it least once a week. Don't do it on the same day though, it completely gets rid of the smell and may cause the Sugar Gliders to become stressed. Wash the cage one day and the pouches another.

I know that now, you told me the other day! It's so much fun to meet people my age who share the same interest in Gliders. Most of my friends think that they are ugly or disgusting, which is why I come here. To talk with others who share my unique interest in these WONDERFUL, AMAZING, SPECIAL creatures. <3

I have a question. How often do your clean your sugar gliders cage?

Most people would say that once a week or whenever needed is ideal. I generally clean out my cages twice a week. One day I clean the actual pull out trays in the cage and the entire cage, the other day is the day that I wash pouches. I do this so I do not ruin the male's time he spent scenting. A lot of people vary the days.

Lauren,
that is very weird that your friends think they are ugly, all my friends think they are the coolest animals. Except one of my friends calls them wombats for some reason but all they want to do it play with "the marsupials"  except one of mine doesn't really do anything except pee and poop everywhere

Awww, they do kind of resemble Wombats in a weird kind of way. They are so cute, I love my little Gliders.
